I wish I could give a good answer, but it’s been sitting in my laptop’s hard drive for so long because I’m intimidated by its sheer length (same goes for both Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal on my PS4). I’ve played the original Witcher, though, and despite how clunky it is (and of course how “cringe” the collectible sex cards are even by 2007 standards) I thought it was a fascinating game worth playing for at least 30 hours, so it would be safe to assume that Witcher III will be vastly superior when I do get around to it.

I’ve heard it’s getting some sort of free “next gen” upgrade, even for the Switch version, somehow, so maybe wait for that before jumping in. Speaking of the Switch version, I feel like portable consoles like that are better suited for extremely long RPGs like the Witcher and Persona despite being inevitably uglier than the other versions because you could make more time for playing the game and maybe grind sidequests on days where you’re too tired from work to advance the main quest, so maybe get that version if you want to finish Witcher III within an entire year.

Had no idea it was such a long game (I just looked it up, and the game is ≈55 hours long..) and thanks for mentioning the “upgraded version”, I’m in no rush to get my hands on this game, so it wouldn’t hurt to wait around a bit for this version to come out. I also intended on getting this game on my switch, mainly because I’m usually not home as much anymore, nor do I feel like my PC could run a game like Witcher III..
