Played Quake for the first time ever, the game is loads of fun, despite its age

Nice! Sometimes it’s great to find a retro game from before your time that still holds up! I personally find early polygonal 3D charming in a way and I’m glad itch.io is now chock-full of these PS1-inspired games like the Bloodborne demake!

I’m personally trying to get the “hype” the original Tomb Raider series back in the late ‘90’s. The gameplay seems to be decent so far, working well around the tank controls of the time, but I CANNOT for the life of me figure out how people found this low-poly, vague representation of a woman titillating back then. The “reboot” Lara looks more like a real woman to me, of course, and is more attractive to me as a result. But hopefully the older games prove to be less linear than the reboot series, which of course prioritized “shiny” graphics over gameplay…

Older FPS games (such as quake) have a charm to them that most others don’t really have in my opinion.

Simple, and still fun as hell :D

wait what is quake?

A game that isn’t from your generation - it’s an old FPS shooter
